Sleeping to Lose Weight

It can be overwhelming and challenging with so many options on the market on how to lose weight, such as; slimming shake protein drinks, diet plans, and many more fads that actually don’t work. Not to mention the hardcore gym routines, boot camps, and more strenuous activities that can actually put one at risk of injury. There are other alternatives that can be effective and gain better control, correct metabolic rate, hormones, and shift the body into better alignment.

Sleeping!  It is the most important part of the process. Here are a number of reasons why I say sleeping can help lose weight:

  • It helps regulate the body’s function in so many different ways. It can boost the immune system. When your body gets the sleep it needs, your immune cells and proteins get the rest they need to fight off whatever comes their way, like colds or the flu.
  • It also helps regulate certain types of hormones. Sleep also helps the body repair. If you don’t get enough sleep, your body produces ghrelin, a hormone that boosts appetite. Hence, why they can say it helps with weight control.
  • Not getting enough sleep can lead to heart health problems like high blood pressure or heart attacks. That’s because lack of sleep can cause your body to release cortisol, a stress hormone that triggers your heart to work harder. Just like your immune system, your heart needs rest in order to function powerfully and properly.
  • Getting quality sleep also will boost mood for the next morning, being rested helps your energy levels soar. When your energy is up, life’s little challenges won’t annoy you as much. When you’re not annoyed, you’re not as angry. If you’re not angry, you’re happy. So, go to bed early and everyone around you will thank you for it.
  • It will help your productivity for the day as sleep helps the brain to function properly throughout the day. So, with this clarity your days will run smoothly and efficiently.
  • It will also give you more energy which in turn will make you feel more active to engage in activities that are going to combat weight loss, whether that be enjoying some bike rides, bush walking, walks along the beach, or the laps in the pool. Or, if you have a dog – taking it for a walk.
  • Getting a proper sleep also helps improve your memory. With more focus on the details of your day, you can make a better structured plan to navigate through your tasks, add extra in, and become better with time management in the long run. Thus, leading to a more active, successful outcome for your days.

They don’t just call it sleep medicine for no reason. This is only a few I’ve highlighted of the health benefits of sleep, as the list goes on.

Now, we have not even gotten to all the other alternatives that can see you losing weight without putting yourself through major pain and suffering, – sweating the hard yards of crazy intense fitness plans. It can be a lot easier if one learns to balance a lifestyle with a range of different techniques.

Always remember that:

  • Sleeping is an easy health routine
  • Sleeping is maintenance
  • Sleeping is the key for the weight loss journey
  • Sleeping puts all into the right framework to begin the new you.
